I was working as a Store Manager at a clothing store, when I realized that I was miserable and couldn't see myself working in retail for the rest of my life. I went home to my husband and asked him what he thought that I liked to do and did well that I could turn into a business. He told me that I liked to bake, so why not do that? I decided that I would and that's how A-Mazion Cakes was born. I enrolled into some decorating classes at the bakery where I purchased my wedding cake and then decided that I would go to school for Pastry Arts. I left the retail business in the beginning of 2008 and started attending Macomb Community College. I graduated with honors as a Certified Pastry Culinarian in December of 2012. I am now focused on making A-Mazion Cakes one of the best home based bakeries in the Metro Detroit Area and eventually the best in Michigan.
